Camille is a landmark film for several reasons. Not the
least of which is during filming, Valentino met and fell in love with
Natacha Rambova, his future bride and working partner. It also
showcased Rambova's incredible sense of design.
Valentino, though his screen time was diminished in the editing room,
gives a remarkable and sensitive portrayal. Camille is available
on
DVD as an extra on the inferior remake with Greta Garbo. |
